Williams to Partner with DeVry University for Career Boot Camp Event

Representative to Help College Students Gain Competitive Edge

CHICAGO, IL State Rep. Ann Williams (D-Chicago) will offer a workshop to local college students and other job seekers as to how to set themselves apart during the interview process on September 29, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the SAC building on the DeVry University campus at 3300 N. Campbell Avenue.

"In this tough economy, the job climate is so competitive," Williams said. "To help people learn how to set themselves apart from the crowd, this workshop will offer some helpful tips to help applicants get noticed."

The DeVry University Career Services workshop entitled "Preparing for your Interview" is a free event and is open to the public. The lecture-style event will inform attendees as to what employers are looking for during the interview process. In addition to DeVry Career Services staff, a human resources expert will also be on hand to answer any questions.

"We are grateful that Representative Williams continues to support business development in our community by connecting job seekers with the vital professional skills they need to achieve career success," said Candace Goodwin, president of the DeVry University Chicago Campus. "DeVry University is committed to providing students and graduates the support they need to begin and maintain rewarding careers. We're excited to share our resources with Chicago job seekers, helping them develop interview skills through Career Boot Camp."
