Williams Attends Circus in the Parks Event to Benefit Local Park Projects

CHICAGO, IL - Rep. Ann Williams (D-Chicago) recently attended the ribbon cutting for the brand new purple and blue little Big Top for the expanded 2011 Circus in the Parks tour in Welles Park.

"The partnership between the Midnight Circus and Friends of the Park is exciting and will help make improvements at neighborhood parks throughout the city," said Rep. Williams. "This is has long been one of my favorite parts of fall in Chicago and it was great to help kick the show off."

The Midnight Circus can be found in a number of outdoor venues. Every October for the past decade, the Midnight Circus has set up for a month of free programming in the heart of downtown Chicago with the city's famous skyline as the backdrop. And most recently, the Midnight Circus has partnered with the Chicago Park District and local parks organizations to perform a series of shows to raise money to rebuild the parks and their playground.

"All the proceeds go toward local our local park improvements ," said Williams. "What a great way to spend a fall afternoon with family and friends and give back to our community."
