Update: Anti-choice legislation (HB 4085)
Several pro-choice amendments were defeated yesterday on the House floor and Ann provides a quick update on HB 4085.

Update: Ann votes yes to change eavesdropping law; bill fails in the House
Ann voted yes to change an antiquated Illinois eavesdropping law which makes any citizen a felon if they audio record a police officer while they perform their official duties in a public place. The bill failed to pass the House.

Update: House passes bill to abolish the General Assembly scholarship program
Ann voted in favor of HB 3810 which would abolish the General Assembly scholarship program. It now goes to the Senate for consideration.

Update: Smoke Free Illinois Exemption Legislation Fails
I wanted to share some good news from Springfield. On Tuesday, February 28th, the Illinois House voted down legislation to create exemptions to Smoke Free Illinois. HB 1310, which would have allowed smoking licenses for various businesses, received only 30 votes in favor when called before the full House. I was one of 81 legislators to vote against this legislation.
